It is my goal each and every single day to serve you – and every other client who I shake hands with – to the absolute highest degree. Every Mobile Detail job I travel to, every Ceramic Coating or Paint Correction I undergo, and most importantly – every step I take for myself and my business, feeds a fire that has kept me going since my childhood.
This story will it help you understand the roots of how my company came to be; but also why I am so dedicated to giving you and your vehicles the absolute top-tier experience possible.
Let me take you back to my childhood, many years ago…

Growing up – although in Atlanta- I could never answer the simple question:
“Where are you from?”
…Because there was never just one place – there were Forty Five. Forty five houses, Forty Five Schools, Forty Five friend groups… and the list goes on. As a child, I never understood why I was forced to move so often – forced to recreate a new RJ every few months.
As it turns out, my single mother was struggling just as much as I was; unable to afford rent and needing to find new options almost multiple times a year.
This led me to never having a place to ground myself – a place to build a foundation and discover who I really was, or what I was capable of… So I had to do it myself.
As the youngest sibling – and the only boy in the house – I had to learn to take care of myself very young. By thirteen, I had been Cooking, Cleaning, and doing Housework while my Mom was out working 3 jobs. My sisters struggled too – but being so young, I felt powerless to try and help.
The more I worked, the more I matured. When you’re then man of the house at thirteen – the boy has to be shut away, and for maturity to take charge.
The only positive? It’s what trained me to work harder than anybody else in the room, at all costs.

At this point, you may think that things could not get any worse.
Oh how wrong that statement is.
At seventeen, everything came crashing down on me. My dad no longer wanted me around, and my mother’s husband at the time kicked me out of the house. There I was, at the ripe age of seventeen.
No home, no role models, no support.
Just me, a 2002 Chevy Impala, and an overwhelming feeling of failure.
Although now homeless, I never let that label stop me.
I would start working as early as 5am, attend classes in the afternoon, and work a second job until well after midnight…
As bad as this cycle sounds, it’s what kept me going for years to come. On the clock, 22 Hours per Day, 7 Days per week.
Fulfilling my Dreams - Or So I Thought
Shortly after my 20th birthday was the moment I had been working for, literally for years: I went to chase my dreams of joining the Marine Corps.
It was the stepping stone I needed to finally prove to the world that I wasn’t going to just be a statistic, but a man who made something of himself.
Well, a small injury and a visit to the nurse revealed I had underlying heart conditions that completely disqualified myself from ever moving forward in the Marines.
To say I was crushed – would be a heavy understatement. Everything I had worked for, all of those years, just to stop dead in my tracks, again. But quitting just simply wasn’t in my DNA.
After returning home, I had a realization of something inside me that I was never able to express – a love for cars and everything automotive.
Before my grandfather passed a few years ago, I followed him anywhere he went when it came to cars. Whether it was wrenching on his own, or seeing the hundreds of museum-worthy builds at shows, I was always in awe of these machines and how people connected with them.
Although mechanics wasn’t my strong suit, I had developed a keen eye for detail, and a drive for perfection. At that moment, I knew I could work on the amazing cars I dreamed of, without having to rebuild an engine…
I just had to find a way… And I always find a way.

Finally, RJ Auto Detailing Was Born

I had never formally detailed a car before, let alone run my own business – but with my last $300 and a dream, I bought everything I needed, and found myself up in North Carolina.
Over the course of about eight months, my business exploded. Although I didn’t have the nicest shop or the fanciest tools, I made sure to deliver immaculate results, and an experience that clients came back for again and again. I had over 80+ 5-Star Reviews already, and life was good!
That’s until COVID-19 hit… Forced to shut down and stay inside, it only took 6 months for savings to run dry. I was back to square one.
Although COVID was terrible for many, I had built a relationship again with my Father over those hard times. I was able to move back in with him, all the way down in Dothan, Alabama.
That meant all my hard work – the clients, the reputation, the money – all had to start from zero once again.
But that’s the best part; I didn’t have to start from zero – I had experience.
That brings us to where I am today – operating RJ Auto Detailing & Ceramic Coatings right here in the heart of Dothan, AL. With over 130+ NEW 5-Star Reviews and counting, we didn’t just survive. We thrived.

It was a warm, rainy afternoon here in Mentor, Ohio. I was just finishing up a shift from what I thought was going to be my dream job: an Automotive Detailer.
See, I love cars, and I always have. Ever since I was a child, I had dreamed of being face to face with exotic cars, being able to one day own one myself.
Although working for a used car dealer cleaning out old Honda Civics wasn’t the dream position, I knew I had to start somewhere. But somehow, I was actually enjoying the process.
There was only one issue: the Pay. I was only making about $14 an hour at the time; and although I was putting in 10 and 12 hour days, I simply was not making enough money to cover my rent. I was going negative month after month. Slowly drowning myself in debt.
There was an opportunity to move up, though. It was a sales position. Instead of being in the back making the cars look decently nice (we know car dealers really don’t care if it’s perfect), I would be the face of the company, selling cars, and making big money. Maybe this was the opportunity I needed after all!
Oh how wrong I was…
"This job just isn't for you, Parker"
To my surprise, after a few months working in the Sales department, I was beginning to make money! That’s great… but just about everything else was falling out of place.
I was constantly struggling to find motivation to do anything. I knew sales made me more money, but I really just couldn’t bring myself to scam people out of their money.
Now I know, not every used car dealership was a scam operation… but this one was. One million percent. Cars that shouldn’t be on the road were being sold for double their book value. It just didn’t feel right… so I decided to say something.
I went into my bosses office and exclaimed “Hey man, I really don’t think this is right. Most of our cars just aren’t what we say they are, and we are absolutely gouging people for them too. Do you really think we can sustain a business like this?”
As you can probably imagine, within the next 20 minutes, I had been fired from this job. Not only that, they had refused to pay out my sales commission they owed me. I felt betrayed. I wanted to swear at that man for days on end, but it would be of no use. I had felt fire inside me, more than I ever had before.
But maybe that was the spark I needed to light the new reality ahead…
On Friday May 14th 2021, Elite Touch Mobile Detailing came to life

I felt lost in my own head for the next few days. “I can’t let this happen to me again. There has to be a better way.” A way that I can live out my dream job, without going into debt no matter what I tried.
If I was going to succeed, I knew I couldn’t be limited by bad business practices, or by other people’s judgement of my skills. Then it hit me. Let’s kick that dealership to the curb and start my own Mobile Detailing company. That way, I control everything, and I can reach endless possibilities.
On Friday May 14th 2021, I officially started Elite Touch Mobile Detailing. I bought all of the tools and materials I needed, and somehow fit it all in the back of my 2014 Toyota Camry. It was a tight fit, but I had no other choice but to make it work.
Here’s the good news: I already knew what I was doing. I had detailed for this dealership for years, so doing great work was easy. Now it was time to learn the hard stuff’ Business.
Although I knew it would be far from easy, I also knew it would be so, so worth it
